According to reports, During the mass shooting, there were two people involved who opened fire just before 3 a.m. on the 1600 block of East 7th Avenue in the Ybor City area. Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said in a statement that one person has been arrested in connection with the Ybor City shooting.
Bercaw said, “We make arrests quickly, We have a sense of urgency and if you are going to be out there with a gun, you are going to pay for it.”

The argument happened in Ybor, a Neighborhood in Tampa, Florida, with several bars and clubs, and there were large numbers of late-night revelers in the area at the time, which turned into horrifying incidents after the shooting.
The authorities have not revealed the identity of two victims who were killed in the shooting but they were men, one was 14 and another was 20.
A victim’s father told WFLA, he lost his 14-year-old son Elijah Jaquan Wilson, who was one of the dead. Wilson said, “It’s madness to me. I don’t even feel like I’m here right now, I hope the investigators do their job and find out who killed my son.”
Tampa police spokeswoman Jonee Lewis issued a statement, “Hundreds” of people were out on the streets as numerous nightspots closed early Sunday. She said one person was detained but no charges were immediately filed. “They’re being questioned and we’ll go from there.”
