According to Tampa police, Two shooters were involved in Tampa Street during Halloween festivities in the Ybor City area. Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said during a press conference at the scene that they opened fire just before 3 a.m. on the 1600 block of East 7th Avenue in the Ybor City area.
Lee Bercaw said, “It was a disturbance or a fight between two groups. And in this fight between two groups, we had hundreds of innocent people involved that were in the way.”
A live video was captured when the shots fired and there was a large crowd were enjoying while wearing costumes were partying on the streets of the heart of Ybor City.
After three shots were fired, the revelers began to run for their lives and there was enormous chaos on the street.

In Tampa Street, there are many bars and clubs, a fight happened, and lots of people were out late at night there. The police didn’t know if the people in the fight were in the bars before. A spokesperson for the Tampa police, Jonee Lewis, said that many people were on the streets as the nightspots closed on Sunday.
They detained one person but didn’t charge them right away. They are asking them questions and will decide what to do next. The police haven’t declared the names of the people who died, but Emmitt Wilson said his 14-year-old son, Elijah was one of them. Wilson came to the scene on Sunday after he got a call that his son was one of the victims.
Police have not confirmed the ages or identities of the fatalities or injuries.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, a former city police chief said in a statement, “Yet again, a senseless loss of life by those choosing to settle a dispute with firearms. Lives lost and others forever changed. To what end?
The Tampa Police Department had 50 officers deployed in the area at the time, so this is not a law enforcement issue. Bad decisions made in a split second and the proliferation of readily available guns are responsible for these almost daily incidents.”
