The whole Ice Hockey community is in mourning after a freak accident that caused player Adam Johnson’s death. He was just 29 years old. He died in front of a huge crowd and his girlfriend after his throat was cut by the edge of an opponent, Sheffield Steelers’ Matt Petgrave.
Matt Petgrave is a Toronto, Canada-born player who is involved in the fatal death of Ice Hockey player Adam Johnson. Matt is a 31-year-old who has enjoyed a roaming existence on the ice over the past decade and a half, as per Daily Mail.
Mr. Petgrave is 6ft 1inch tall and weighs 201lbs, he started his career as a youngster with the Bramalea Blues in the Ontario Junior Hockey League prior to joining the Niagara IceDogs in the Ontario Hockey League.
Matt Petgrave has not said about this horrifying incident since the accident happened.

Fox host Jesse Watters described Matt Petgrave as “dirty’ and stated it looked like a homicide while Chris Therien, former player, wrote on social media, “I was literally appalled and sickened by what I saw. It looked intentional. It was a Kung fu kick. My eyes are not lying tell me I’m wrong.”
The Penguins issued a statement on behalf of coach Mike Sullivan, who coached Johnson during his time with the team, as per Yahoo.
Mike Sullivan said, “It’s an incredible tragedy. He was a great kid. It was a privilege to be his coach. … I remember his first game and his first goal in Minnesota. He was a great kid, a great player. And boy, he could really skate.”
A police spokesperson said, “Our officers remain at the scene conducting investigations, Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing. We encourage the public to avoid speculation about the incident while we continue our investigations.”
