Dr. Justin Wendling was a Flint-area doctor, originally from Holly, Michigan, who was employed as a resident at Ascension Genesys Hospital. He was in a relationship with a student “Gina Bryant” 25 who was studying at the University of Michigan-Flint to be a nurse. They came into a relationship in August 2022, but their relationship didn’t last for long and after 11 months of togetherness, Justin murdered Gina and took his own life.
The cause of this incident was abusive behaviour of Justin towards Gina which is why Gina decided to break up with Justin which turned into this tragedy. According to the latest report from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, Justin shot and killed Gina at approximately 12:00 a.m., then fled to Bettendorf, Iowa. MCSO was told that as local officers approached the vehicle, Justin shot and killed himself.

A neighbor’s surveillance video showed the suspect leading the victim to his vehicle at approximately 1:42 PM on 10/12/2023”.
