Vincent Tabak was a third occupant in the building where Ms. Joanna Yeates used to live with her boyfriend. He reportedly killed the young Joanna on 17th December 2010 in her flat. He first entered her room by knocking on the door and later throttled her.
He was charged with Joanna’s murder on 22 January 2011. Vincent is allegedly serving his 20-year sentence, at HM Prison, Wakefield.
Julian Moss, a temporary assistant chief constable, said, “Vincent Tabak is a dangerous, calculating, and manipulative offender who is already serving a life sentence for the murder of Joanna Yeates.
“During the course of the investigation into Joanna’s murder, indecent images of children were found on Tabak’s laptop.
“These offenses did not form part of the initial murder trial.
“Although he’s serving a minimum tariff of 20 years’ imprisonment, we felt it was crucial Tabak was brought to justice for possessing indecent images of children, so the full nature of Tabak’s offending is on record.”

Christopher Jefferies, who was the landlord of the building where Joanna lived before her death, was falsely accused of murdering Joanna Yeates but later released from custody after it was proved that he was innocent.
Christopher Jefferies is a landlord and a retired teacher at Clifton College. His involvement and false arrest in the case, led to damage to his reputation and character as he was named in several outlets and newspapers as a suspect of Joanna Yeates.
Jefferies has since said of the trial, “It was clear that the tabloid press had decided I was guilty of Miss Yeates’ murder and seemed determined to persuade the public of my guilt.”
Mr. Jefferies obtained a formal apology from Avon and Somerset police in 2013.
