Al Dahra Company Qatar: Recently shocking news has come out that eight Indin employees of “Al Dahra Global Technologies and Consultancy Services” have been sentenced to death. After hearing this news the families of those employees were in shock.
The Ministry of External Affairs in a statement has released a statement regarding it and in this article, we will discuss what exactly happened and why Qatar sentenced them to death.
What is Al Dahra Company Qatar?
As per sources, Al Dahra is a Gulf-based company that provides services to the aerospace, security, and defense sectors. The aim of this company was to obtain high-tech Italian-made submarines that could evade radar detection.
The company was shut down in May 2023 after Qatar alleged that the company was spying for Israel and passing sensitive documents as per the latest reports. Well, in this case, the Qatar government has arrested eight employees of this company who are most probably Indian.
The eight employees are, “Captain “Navtej Singh Gill“, Captain “Saurabh Vasisht”, Commander “Purnendu Tiwari”, Captain “Birendra Kumar Verma“, Commander “Sugunakar Pakala”, Commander “Sanjeev Gupta”, Commander “Amit Nagpal” and Sailor “Ragesh“
They all were arrested in August 2022 because there were some allegations that the men were spying on behalf of Israel. All eight had their first trial in March and later on 26 October 2023, the Qatr court announced a death sentence for all eight employees who had been arrested.
Why Al Dahra Global Technologies and Consultancy Services Holding Closed?
The company was closed in May 2023, and the reason behind its shutting down was that the company was spying for Israel and passing sensitive documents. Later the Qatar government allegedly arrested eight Indian employees of the company in August 2022 and sentenced them to death on October 26, 2023. Along with the employees, the owner of the company was also arrested but later he was released in November 2022.
After this shocking incident, the Ministry of External Affairs released a statement in which they said, “We are deeply shocked by the verdict of the death penalty and are awaiting the detailed judgment. We are in touch with the family members and the legal team, and we are exploring all legal options,” said a statement released by the ministry.”
“We attach high importance to this case and have been following it closely. We will continue to extend all consular and legal assistance. We will also take up the verdict with Qatari authorities. Due to the confidential nature of proceedings of this case, it would not be appropriate to make any further comment at this juncture” the statement said.
