Professional Basketball player Samboy Lim whose real name is Avelino Borromeo Lim Jr. he widely known as Samboy Lim in the world of basketball sport. He was a great player of his time between the 1980s and 90s.
He retired from professional basketball games in 1997 to join the Philippine Basketball League to play for the Welcoat House Paints in a guest appearance and then opened a basketball clinic for children and led basketball training classes and summer camps.

Samboy Lim Cause of Coma
Samboy Lim, 61, was rushed to the hospital unconscious after collapsing on the 28th evening in 2014 which led him to slip into a coma. Later it was announced that it was the cause of a heart attack or stroke.
He was slipped out of the coma and later brought home in January 2015 for additional treatment and therapy.
According to a report, His clinic bills reached around P2.8 million, and he continues to be in need of regular medical care including equipment, supplies, and personal therapy at home.
Samboy Lim was tied the knot with the former CEO of Home Development Mutual Fund otherwise known as the PAG-IBIG Fund, Darlene Marie Berberabe. They have a child, Jamie Christine Berberabe Lim, who is a 2019 SEA Games Gold Medalist.
