During an interview with Sas Australia instructor Ant Middleton, Stephanie Rice, 35, broke down when the instructor turned to ask about her personal and romantic relationship status. “It’s harder,” she added, “I think it’d be nice to have somebody to go through the harder times. I would love to have somebody to help through, like ride the waves.”
She admitted when she left the show, she did not have to look forward. The pool queen was previously in a relationship with a fellow swimmer, Eamonn Sullivan.
She has previously been linked to legendary American swimmer Michael Phelps, NRL star David ‘Wolfman’ Williams, and swimmer, Nic D’Arcy, as per Daily Mails.
Stephanie Rice’s Heartbreak with Sas Australia Instructor Ant Middleton
Australian Olympian Stephanie Rice got emotional during a heartbreaking interview after dropping a devastating about her life. She opened up that she had struggled to find “purpose” after quitting swimming in 2014.
The three-time gold medallist, Stephanie Rice was left in tears as she described her relationships in an interview, she is now performing on Channel 7’s SAS Australia and in a recent episode suffered a dislocated shoulder which caused her almost being withdraw from the show.
After she was medically cleared, she sat down with SAS instructor Ant Middleton, a British adventurer and writer, where she disclosed she had struggled since quitting swimming in 2014.
She said, “I really struggled,” I felt really lost after I finished swimming. I didn’t feel like I had any purpose or any direction and I didn’t feel like anybody understood.
“I felt like I haven’t really trained for anything since I finished competing – like I haven’t really had a goal to work towards, one specific thing.
“Having an athletic goal is something I know how to do. I know how to prep for that. I know how to train and push myself and I’ve always loved that feeling.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever find something that was the same as what swimming was.”
She emotionally revealed her struggle after leaving her athletic career in 2014. She said, “Everyone is searching for some purpose in life and ‘what am I here for?’ I think because I didn’t have that, it then brought about [questions of], ‘Who am I? What do I value? What do I stand for?”
She added, “I realized how much of my identity was wrapped up in swimming but also the version of me as this successful swimmer, achiever and all the external gratifications, which everybody loves and needs aspects of, but I realized how low my self-worth was just as a person without any of those external things.”

Former Swimmer, Stephanie Rice, and Rugby union player, Quade Cooper have reportedly broken up after dating over the months. A statement released by Rice’s team that “Stephanie Rice has officially split with Quade and will be focusing 100 percent on her Olympic preparation,”
The couple had been in a romantic relationship for nearly a year from 2010 until 2011. After just 12 months together the relationship they decided to split.
