The police found two students from Blacksburg High School dead in a vehicle in a parking garage. They were responding to a report about a suspicious vehicle. One of the teens was identified as Serenity Hawley, a 17-year-old senior from Blacksburg.
Her dad, John Hawley, said she was about to turn 18 and was looking forward to going to Virginia Tech, where she was accepted.

Serenity’s family said, that she was shot in the chest by her ex-boyfriend, Croney Monk before he killed himself. Her mom, Heather Waldron said, “She was just very vivacious. She was just larger than life. And to know that she is gone is just unreal,” she added, “She was just very vivacious. She was just larger than life. And to know that she is gone is just unreal.”
“She was a great kid. I mean I couldn’t have asked for a better child,” her father John Hawley said. “At school, she got into DECA and Younglife,” said Hawley.
“The biggest thing is to watch for red flags. Don’t ignore or think that this wouldn’t happen to your daughter because I would never in a million years thought this would happen to my daughter.”

According to a report by News SNBC 13, Serenity a 17-year-old student was murdered by her ex-boyfriend at 723 University City Blv. She was the daughter of a former AFLAC cohort John Hawley. She was identified as the victim of Tuesday’s violence in Blacksburg Virginia.
