Sarah Parish, 55, tied the knot with actor James Murray, 48, a.k.a Jim Murray in December 2007. The couple shared their first daughter in 2008 and second daughter in 2009. The couple had two children, unfortunately, their first daughter died at only eight months.
Sarah said, “After the surgery, we really felt that, though Ella-Jayne might have some challenges, everything was going to be OK.”

Sarah and her husband, James Murray, welcomed their first daughter Ella-Jayne in 2008 and lost her to a congenital heart defect and in the aftermath of her death, the pair spent two months working on an orphanage in Cambodia.
Bancroft star Sarah Parish has spoken of her despair after losing her eight-month-old daughter, Ella-Jayne Murray. She raised funds for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Southampton General Hospital for years, in Ella’s memory.
Parish explained, “My husband and I grieved in different ways, I think men and women do, But I kept having to remind myself that it wasn’t like losing a healthy child, we had an extremely sick daughter, and we lost her. Our grief was huge, but we had something rational to hold onto.”
Sarah told an outlet, “But such an incredible loss inevitably puts an enormous strain on a relationship because people grieve in different ways. It would take the most emotionally mature people to be able to cope in that situation and to comfort one another in the correct way.”
She added, “Statistics show that 75 percent of couples who lose a child end up separating. I can see why. Because when you lose a child, it’s a 50:50 loss. Perhaps that’s the wrong way of putting it – what I mean is that you both suffer that loss equally but separately at the same time. It’s very difficult to comfort each other because you are both enveloped in your own sadness.”
She welcomed her second daughter in 2009 with her husband. Her second daughter’s name is Nell, who is 14 years old as of 2023.

Sarah Parish lives in Hampshire with her husband and daughter Nell. She was born in Yeovil, Somerset, to parents, Bill and Thelma Parish. She has two siblings, a daughter, Julie, and a brother, John Parish, who is a musician.
