According to authorities, the fireman “recently reported mental health issues to include hearing voices and threats to shoot up the National Guard Base in Saco, Maine.”

Because of the shooting and the search for the shooter, people were told to stay in their homes and not go outside in Androscoggin and northern Sagadahoc counties. These areas include Lewiston, Auburn, and Lisbon.
The police are looking for him because he is charged with multiple counts of murder, and hurting and killing people in a restaurant and a bowling alley. Robert Card is 40 years old, and the police say he has a weapon and he described as “armed and dangerous.” The Department of Justice is trying to find him, and they are getting help from other government agencies.
A Lewiston-Auburn area resident named Patrick Dempsey reflected on the strength of the local community and raised his pities to those impacted by this senseless act of violence.
He wrote on his Instagram, “I am shocked, and deeply saddened by last night’s tragedy in my hometown, Lewiston, Maine,” Dempsey wrote in his Instagram post. “Maine’s great strength is its sense of community, and now we are being asked to come together to support everyone that has been devastated by this senseless act. My family and I are heartbroken for the victims, their families, and the community.”
