When many fans first saw the video they could not understand and see it as Rashmika Mandanna’s real video but after seeing the original video, they realized that this video was a deep fake.
The deep fake video has amassed millions of views across social media platforms including more than 2.4 million on Twitter. Abhishek Kumar, a journalist from India, tracked down the fake video’s origin.
Mr. Abhishek Kumar wrote on Twitter, “There is an urgent need for a legal and regulatory framework to deal with deepfake in India. You might have seen this viral video of actress Rashmika Mandanna on Instagram. But wait, this is a deepfake video of Zara Patel. This thread contains the actual video.”

Amid this deep fake viral video, Ms. Patel recently shared a story on her Instagram, where she wrote, “It has come to my attention that someone created a deepfake video using my body and a popular Bollywood actress’s face. I had no involvement with the deepfake video, and I’m deeply disturbed and upset by what is happening.
