In the year of 1996, Kristin Smart, a 19-year-old college student, left an off-campus party in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and disappeared. It was a dark night for Kristin Smart when she went to a party with her friends. This was on May 25, 1996, when Kristin went with her friends to attend a fellow Cal Poly University student’s off-campus party.
Then at around 2 a.m. in the night, she was found unconscious in her neighbor’s lawn. When her friends got to know about it her friends take her to the room, and suddenly a third friend Paul Flores came and said, you don’t worry, I will send Kristin home safely. But since then till today nothing was known about Christine that where she went.
When the police came to know about this news, they started the investigation of the case and after a lot of investigation, they declared on May 25, 2002, that Kristin Smart had been murdered. Well, some years ago Paul Flores was arrested on suspicion in this murder case, but recently it also declared that Paul had killed Christine.
Who Killed Kristin Smart?
So basically, on April 13, 2021, Flores and his father, Ruben Flores, were arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of Kristin’s murder. Their homes were searched, and researchers found multiple items of interest in Paul’s home.
Their trial was held in Monterey County Superior Court in Salinas, California and it began in July 2022, but on October 18, 2022, Paul Flores was found guilty in the murder of Kristin, and his father “Ruben Flores” was absolved of accessory after the fact and on March 10, 2023, Paul was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
