The “Mombies” is a group of moms of different ages (25 to 65) who have been working together to dance and raise money since 2016. They have collected more than $170,000 for breast cancer research so far, and their dance videos have been viewed by millions of people.
During October, these moms are dressing up like zombies and taking part in amazing dance shows all over the state.
All the mothers became a zombie with spooky looks to celebrate the Halloween festival on 31 October 2023 to raise money for breast cancer research.
Kate Garin, 39, an accountant in Fairfield, Connecticut, revealed to Fox News Digital, “It’s a bonding experience.”
“Many in our group are survivors, so to be able to connect with women and share stories and have someone to turn to if, God forbid, this happens to you, it’s very touching. It’s incredible how strong these women are and how amazing they are. And we’re having a lot of fun while raising money,” she added.

The mombies meet before the Halloween festival and they select a theme and beat always including Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” They practice a dance on the music or beat, so it takes several weeks to ready for the performance on the Halloween festival on 31 August.
Ms. Garin said, “There’s a lot of planning that goes into place and there’s a lot of commitment and hard work, but it pays off.”
“We’re all working moms and we all have kids and lacrosse tournaments and baseball tournaments. And so, you know, we try to weave it all in,” she added.
“We have a couple of Mombies who are very talented in the makeup world,” Garin said.
“Before the show, we’ll get together in groups and help each other, Nobody does makeup on their own.”
The Mombies and Zombies are a group of doctors, nurses, lawyers, accountants, and more, who meet to raise funds for breast cancer research.
