An Arizona father, Melvin Harris reportedly beat a man who allegedly attempted to follow his 16-year-old daughter into a restroom stall and was sentenced to eight years in prison. It happened when Melvin’s daughter told her father that the man tried to get into her stall.
Afterward, Mr. Harris encountered that man at a QuikTrip convenience store in Phoenix, where he began to beat him until he died. A person informed the police and told the whole story of the incident.
The police received videos of the incidents from the witness and immediately detained Melvin Harris on 18 August 2018.
According to a police report, The fatal event occurred on 3 August 2018, after Leon Armstrong allegedly tried to get into the locked bathroom stall that Harris’ daughter was in a convenience store.
Melvin Harris told the store worker, “He needs his ass beat,” according to court documents he said, “Imma beat his ass.”
According to reports, The victim Armstrong had a long criminal record. He died in the hospital from brain swelling, a nasal rupture, and loss of oxygen.

Melvin Harris was eventually arrested and pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the murder of Leon Armstrong. He got 8 years. His wife said that he was merely protecting his daughter and said, “I don’t think he did anything wrong, he did what he was supposed to do for our kid.”
Deputy County Attorney Jane Schneider wrote in his sentencing memorandum, “The defendant went over to the victim and, in his rage, punched the victim without provocation, kicked him, and stomped on his head, ultimately causing death,”
Schneider added, “The defendant took matters into his own hands and decided he was going to be judge, jury, and executioner,” and he “did not seek help for the victim even though it was evident he was gravely injured.”
According to Oxygen True Crime, alcohol also reportedly played a role in Armstrong’s death. Armstrong, who was intoxicated, had a blood booze content of 0.087 when he died.
