Kim Barry was the daughter of Brian and Beverly Barry, they got the news that their daughter was no more after they returned from a weekend. They assumed that she was outside with her friends and later the news broke that a dead body had been found in Wollongong, New South Wales, nearly 1km away from their house.
Kim had been murdered and brutally mutilated after a night out with a friend. After an investigation, the police arrested the killer who was a 23-year-old coalminer, Graham Gene Potter.
Graham Potter, 65, cut off her fingers and head while her brother was sleeping in the next room.
According to reports, The murderer Graham Potter was going to marry his childhood sweetheart Sherree on Valentine’s Day, eight days later, as per Daily Telegraph.

The Detective said, “After he met Kim at the disco, the pair went back to Potter’s flat at Corrimal,’’
“We are pretty sure Kim rejected his advances and he got enraged and hit her with incredible force over the head with a spanner.
“He went back to the disco an hour later and told his brother he changed his mind about sleeping with her and she went home.’’
