Who was Kim Barry Killer?
Graham Gene Potter murdered Kim Barry, a shop assistant, after meeting her at a disco. After meeting at a club, he took away her from his home in Wollongong flat, where he mutilated and killed her after doing some inappropriate things.
When Kim’s parents returned from a weekend they informed the police that their daughter was missing Friday night. Then, the victim’s mother, Beverly Barry, recognized the clothing as that of her 19-year-old daughter Kim.
The police found the murderer who was 23 year old, coalmine worker named Graham Potter.
In 1981, he was arrested after a brief investigation of the case. He was sent to jail for 16 years.
He was freed after 16 years and fell in with the mob, but is now on the run again after snitching on a drug deal.
How was Kim Barry’s Body Found?
Graham Potter, 65, was going to be taken to Melbourne to appear in court. It’s been nearly 12 years since he didn’t show up for his last court date. The Queensland Police found him, they were looking for him in a small town in Far North Queensland.
He was finally found at a Ravenshoe residence crammed with junk on Ascham Street. According to Queensland Police, he had used the pseudonym “Josh” when confronted by officers and was known to go by the name “Ned”.
He was arrested at Ravenshoe, and a Police officer yelled in a video while arresting him, “This is the police. Do not move. Put your hands where I can see them,” the cop said.
“Police found him hiding inside the home address,” Assistant Commissioner Mick Frewen from Victoria Police’s Crime Command said:
“We’ve confirmed it is Graham, “There is no doubt about his identity and it puts an end to a decades-long hunt for a known fugitive charged with very serious crimes.”
