The “City People Entertainment Awards” winner actress, Sidikat Odunkanwi professionally known as Iyabo Oko has reportedly died at 62 on 28 June 2023.
The actress’s daughter, Bisi Aisha, a soldier, said that her mother passed away on Wednesday evening after battling an unknown illness at just 62. She took her Instagram account to disclose Iyabo Oko’s death and also shared her photos.
Although, her daughter has also shared an update regarding her mom’s death that she was alive. Unfortunately, after some time she passed away.
Mr. Aisha wrote on her Instagram “It is well with your soul, mummy. RIP.”
Several actors and actresses came to pay their condolence on her burial day.
According to “The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)” Iyabo Oko was born on November 15, 1960, in Iwo, Osun. She began acting as a teenager under Eda Onileola Theatre Troupe In 1973 before becoming popular for her character role in the movie Oko, produced by ‘Oga Bello’.
According to reports, she was diagnosed with an Ischemic stroke which led her to take a break from acting for a long time.
In 2016, Iyabo Oko was honored with the Special Recognition accolade at the City People Entertainment Awards.

The mother of two, Iyabo Oko was married to the talented actor, Tajudeen Akanmu, who is known as Koledowo. Her death is a great loss for her family and the whole entertainment industry. Her abrupt death news shocked the whole family and her fans.
Iyabo Oko, 62, was nominated for “Yoruba Movies Academy Awards” for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in 2014.
