According to Sports Illustrated, the estimated fee is $120 million for a team to leave the conference. The majority believed that the grand grant of rights was incomprehensible to leave.
If they are able to pull out it would change college football in a big way as it would make a number of questions for both the Clemson Tigers and the ACC.
There will be some speculations between the Clemson team and ACC until something is officially announced in the future. At least then it seems clear that Clemson may not be in the ACC for long.
Clemson’s departure is a big sign that the Atlantic Coast Conference is moving in the same direction as the Pac-12. They have a media rights deal with ESPN until 2036, but the company has a stipulation in the deal that if the conference drops below 15 teams, as per Sportskeeda.

The ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) makes more than $39.4 million per year from every team. If the Clemson Tigers leave, then it will decrease significantly.
In the upcoming year in 2024, ACC will be at its 17 teams as it recently added the Stanford Cardinal, California Golden Bears, and SMU Mustangs after leaving Clemson.

Greg Swaim recently shared the news that those programs are still looking to leave via his Twitter.
