How Did Lucy Letby Kill Babies?
British resident, Lucy Letby was a nurse, who killed many babies or attempted to murder infants in her care. Although, she has been arrested in July 2018 on suspicion of a series of deaths of infants from June 2015 to June 2016, as per Wikipedia.
The 33 years old nurse began to work as a neonatal nurse at Countess of Chester Hospital.
She was released on bail but later rearrested in 2019 and again in 2020 for the case of reattempting murder of infants. At her final arrest, she was charged with eight counts of murder and ten counts of attempted murder. Although, she denied all charges against her.
Letby was found guilty of murdering seven infants and six others during one year period, at the conclusion of her trial from October 2022 to August 2023.
Lucy Letby Evidence
Lucy’s trial began at Manchester Crown Court on 10 October 2022, Letby’s parents and the families of victims attended the trial.
When Police began to investigate they found several handwriting and notes including the phrases, “I killed them on purpose because I’m not good enough to care for them”; “I am evil I did this”; and Today is your birthday and you are not here and I am so sorry for that.”
A Prosecutor Nick Johnson KC asked questions to the nurse and began cross-examining while asking “Is there any reason that you cry when you talk about yourself,” he questioned, “But you don’t cry when talking about these dead and seriously injured children?”
She replied, “I have cried when talking about some of those babies.”
Moreover, the names of the children, who are related to the charges, have not been revealed due to privacy they were referred to as Child.
After the Jury decision, Lucy is scheduled to be sentenced in Manchester on the morning of 21 August 2023.
