Holly Willoughby Kidnap Plot News: Renowned British television media personality and host, Holly Willoughby has recently announced that she is stepping away from the ITV program This Morning as she was reportedly the target of a kidnapping and murder by a group of men and a suspect has been arrested. Holly Willoughby Kidnap Plot News
English television presenter, model, and author, Holly Willoughby is best known for co-presenting ITV’s This Morning and Dancing on Ice. She was aware of her kidnapping plot on 5 October after a man from Harlow was arrested for solicitation and invitation over an alleged plot to abduct and murder her.
The suspect, Gavin Plumb, was accused of reaching another man in the US and asking him to come to the UK to kill Holly Willoughby. He reportedly told the man that he had “assembled a kidnap and restraint kit capable of encouraging or assisting the commission of the kidnap of Holly Willoughby.”
Following this horrifying murder plot, Ms. Holly Willoughby was taken into protective custody and she stopped to play her role in the This Morning program.
The 42-year-old presenter took to Instagram to announce that she will no longer be on the television show she wrote “I’ve let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to ‘This Morning.”
She added, “To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.”
She concluded, “I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family.”
Gavin Plumb, 36, Appointed a Man for Kidnap & Murder of Holly Willoughby
The 36-year-old suspect was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap.
The suspect whose name is Gavin Plumb appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on 6 October, where he was sent in custody on accusations of incitement to murder and incitement to kidnap. A petition hearing was scheduled for November at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Det Supt Rob Kirby, from Essex and Kent Serious Crime Directorate, said, “This was an extremely fast-paced investigation, with many of our officers and national partners working overnight to secure these charges.
he continued, “The safeguarding of any victim is paramount and we will continue to prioritize this and work with the Metropolitan police service as the investigation proceeds.”
ITV’s managing director, Kevin Lygo issued a statement and said it is very sad to see go Willoughby from the show.
“We are sad that Holly is leaving This Morning, but respect her decision which we know will have been extremely difficult for her to make,” he said. “Holly is one of the best-loved, respected, and most accomplished broadcasters in the UK. She has been at the heart of This Morning for the past 14 years, and she is adored by our viewers.
He concluded: “Holly has brought her unique brand of warmth, energy, humor, and fun to one of the country’s most popular daytime shows, and everyone on the program will miss her enormously. She remains a much-loved member of the ITV family and we look forward to continuing to work with her in the future.”
