Don Laughlin, who established Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino, died on 22 October, leaving shockwaves surrounding the county as he was a prestigious man and made a name for himself in several businesses.
Don Laughlin was born in 1931, he died on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023. He was the founder of Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort, located in a town holding his name 96 miles south of Las Vegas.
Don Laughlin’s Death Cause
In a Facebook post, Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort remarked about his death, “Don touched many lives in our local community as well as nationwide, and we understand how difficult this news will be for many. Especially our Riverside Resort family. Don Laughlin was truly an amazing man to work with and learn from.”
The governor of Nevada, Joe Lombardo shared his condolence on social media and wrote, “Donna and I were saddened to hear of Don Laughlin’s passing today. Don built and developed his namesake town of Laughlin, making it into the city it is today. Don was an outstanding Nevadan, and he’ll always be remembered for his pioneering spirit, ingenuity, and enduring impact.”
There is no cause of his death has been disclosed so far.
How Don Laughlin Die?
Diana Fuchs, the marketing director of Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort and Casino, stated Mr. Laughlin died early Sunday morning in his penthouse home at the resort.
“He died of natural causes and was 92 years old,” she penned in an email, “Mr. Laughlin had been surrounded by his immediate and extended family for days leading up to his death. Don had a large family who loved and idolized him, and in true Don Laughlin spirit, (he) was still trying to make them laugh with his jokes.
“Phone calls, emails, and Facebook messages have been pouring into the Riverside from across the nation with pictures of when they met Don, and stories of their favorite trips or honeymoons to beautiful Laughlin, NV; the town and community which started with Don and his family in 1966.”
