Cooks Corner Victims Identified: The Orange County District Attorney’s Office identified the shooter as a retired Ventura Police Sergeant John Snowling, who was 59 years old. He went to Cook Corner Biker Bar looking for his estranged wife Marie to murder her.
Cooks Corner Shooting:
The former Ventura Police officer opened fire, killing three and wounding six others, at an iconic biker bar in Southern California’s Orange County Wednesday evening. The incident happened after John Snowling went to a bar looking for her estranged wife.
He went to kill her wife, and as he saw her wife he began to fire at her and randomly several fires. Her wife Marie was shot in her lower jaw by him but she could survive after an emergency treatment.
Marie’s father William Mosby said his daughter, Marie, and her husband, John Snowling had gone through a bitter divorce. The couple had been living in the Camarillo area before the split.
The Shootout took place at the historic Cook’s Corner bar in the Trabuco Canyon community at about 7 p.m. local time.
Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes said, “Mr. Snowling … then started randomly shooting at patrons within Cook’s Corner,” That progressed to the outside area.”
He added, “We believe he traveled from Ohio with an ongoing dispute regarding the separation and pending divorce with his wife,”
Cooks Corner Victims Identified:
According to reports, The shooter or former cop was also killed in a shootout with deputies. At least 10 people were harmed during the whole incident, including three killed and six badly injured, By Law Enforcement, the killing victims have been identified as John Leehey, 67, Tonya Clark, 49, and Glen Sprowl, 53.
The sheriff said in a statement, “We stand in mourning alongside the family and friends of Tonya, John, and Glen, They were tragically killed Wednesday in a shooting at Cook’s Corner in Trabuco Canyon. Please join us in wishing all who knew and loved them comfort during this extremely difficult time.”
The injured people were immediately taken to Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo on Wednesday night. The two were in critical condition, one was shot in the chest and Marie was shot in her jaw.
According to the Los Angeles Times, No children or deputies were injured in the shooting.
